     I was trying a few new things in this one going against the grain of what I hear a lot of other DJs doing. I tried to incorporate rock and electronica side by side with some hip-hop, 80's 90's, reggae and humor thrown in. I'm amused that Pantera somehow ended up in the mix. It transitioned smoothly between the other cuts and takes the energy level all over the place before the mix settles into a groove. I had created the Pantera & Notorious B.I.G. cut up a couple of years ago in preparation for a laptop battle but unfortunately it never was played live.
 A friend of mine just got back from Paris where TTC is being played all over the airwaves right now. For those of you who don't speak French, their lyrics are very raunchy in a 2 Live Crew sort of way. They also collaborate with Modeselektor, another one of my favorite groups right now.
 When I was 10 my uncle gave me three or four Prince albums with the instructions "Learn this." Housequake was one of my favorite cuts at the time and I had forgotten about it until I stumbled across a rollerskating rink around 4 in the morning at Burningman just bumping the shit out of that track. The party people were skating and dancing like palm trees in a hurricane.
